In 2023, the U.S. witnessed a surge in certified organic product sales, reaching approximately $70 billion, marking a new pinnacle for the industry. The Organic Trade Association's 2024 Organic Industry Survey disclosed that American organic market dollar sales escalated to $69.7 billion, a growth rate of 3.4 percent from the previous year. This increment comes despite the prevalent price inflation across retail sectors, with consumer preferences strongly inclined towards health, sustainability, and the USDA Organic label.

The organic sector adapted its supply chain and adjusted retail pricing strategies to manage the increased operational costs, ensuring sustained growth.

Organic food sales were reported at $63.8 billion, while organic non-food products recorded sales of $5.9 billion in 2023. Organic produce, maintaining its position as the largest category, saw a 2.6 percent increase to $20.5 billion, making up over 15 percent of the total U.S. fruit and vegetable sales. Leading the organic produce sales were avocados, berries, apples, carrots, packaged salads, with organic bananas outpacing the growth of non-organic bananas.
