LIVESEEDING is a continuation of the successful Horizon 2020 project LIVESEED (www.liveseed.eu), with the goal to increase availability and use of organic seed and vegetative planting material in the EU, paving the way of gradually phasing out the use of non-organic seed in organic farming by 2036, as written in Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2018/848. The project received funding by the European Union, the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
In the first quarter of 2023 the project will offer 3 training modules.
- 25th of January 2023 (9:15-13:30h CET) Online Policy Conference - Pathways to create a level playing field in the organic seed sector in the EU. Objectives: Provide information, give practice examples, and facilitate an open discussion on 3 focus points: Focus 1: importance of national organic seed expert groups; Focus 2: increase transparency in the organic seed supply chain; Focus 3: implement national roadmaps towards 100% organic seed by 2036. Target group: All actors along the organic seed and breeding supply - policy makers, national authorities, control bodies, seed authorities, seed associations, seed producer & trader, breeder, researcher, and NGOs.
- 16th of March 2023 (10:00-12:00h CET) Online Training on the European Router Database (www.seeds4organic.eu) for EU Member State national authorities. Objectives: Provide information on the concept of the database, how to use the database, to revise incoming offer of plant reproductive material from foreign countries. Target Group: EU Member State national and regional authorities, seed authorities and seed database managers.
- 23rd of March 2023 (10:00-12:00h CET) Online Training on the European Router Database (www.seeds4organic.eu) for suppliers of organic seed and vegetative planting material. Objectives: Provide information on the concept of the database, how to use the database, how to offer organic seed, seed potatoes or vegetative planting material to other countries. Target Group: Supplier of organic seed, seed potatoes, and vegetative planting material.
