Agence BIO, the French Agency for the Development and Promotion of Organic Farming, has updated its publication on organic farming in the world, "Carnet Monde 2020".
At the end of 2019 there were 103 countries with regulations for organic farming. The global organic market reached 103.5 billion euros in 2018 and exceeded 112 billion euros in 2019. The world’s area under organic cultivation is estimated at around 71.5 million hectares at the end of 2018. It represented 1,5 % of the total agricultural surface of the countries surveyed. Around 2.8 million certified organic farms were registered worldwide in 2018.
