The FAO General Director Jacques Diouf has stated that he does not
believe organic farming can replace the traditional agricultural
systems and ensure food safety in the world: he claims that chemical
inputs as well are needed. Diouf's statement has been circulated after
some articles reporting that FAO proposes organic farming as a solution
to defeat hunger in the world
