Progetto Challenge: mappate buone pratiche di transizione agroecologica in Italia e nel mondo

Stimolare la costruzione di una rete di pratiche virtuose per guidare economie del cibo eque e sostenibili, diffondere un approccio integrato e trasformativo fra gli attori chiave del sistema agroalimentare, facilitando lo scambio di esperienze: sono questi i principi ispiratori della mappatura di buone pratiche di transizione agroecologica promossa dalla coalizione Azione TerrAE, formata da 7 associazioni di cooperazione e 2 reti della società civile: ACRA, CISV, COSPE, DEAFAL, LVIA, Mani Tese, Terra Nuova, Rete Semi Rurali e Agroecolog

Agricultural practices in climate change resilience

A number of meta-analyses, reviews and studies have compared the environmental and economic outcomes of agroecological practices compared to conventional agricultural practices. There is a strong empirical evidence base for agroecology-aligned practices in supporting climate change adaptation, mitigation and resilience. Benefits from agroecology practices include improved grain yields with fewer inputs, greater biodiversity, improved soil health and water security, and enhanced carbon sequestration.

The socio-economic performance of agroecology. A review

In “Agronomy for sustainable development” - Agroecology is identified as an important solution to increase the sustainability of agricultural and food systems. Despite the increasing number of publications assessing the socio-economic outcomes of agroecology, very few studies have consolidated the scattered results obtained on various case studies. This paper provides new insights by consolidating evidence on the varied socio-economic effects of agroecology across a large number of cases at a global level.

Il primo bando cofinanziato "Fostering agroecology at farm and landscape levels" è destinato a progetti di ricerca e innovazione che affrontano la transizione verso l'agroecologia nel contesto dei sistemi agricoli convenzionali e biologici.
 

Cultivating change with agroecology and organic agriculture in the tropics - Bridging science and policy for sustainable production systems

Agroecology and organic agriculture present promising alternatives to the current food system, supported by a growing body of evidence. Despite the potential of AE/O, their full benefits cannot be realised in most countries due to political and institutional barriers and lock-ins, including incentives and funding that favour “business as usual” food systems. Overcoming present and future challenges will require educated and empowered stakeholders to support AE/O agriculture in their fields.

Seminario FIBL: "Agroecologia e agricoltura biologica e il loro contributo alla sicurezza alimentare globale"

Un gruppo di ricercatori del FiBL (Haruk Cicek, Amritbir Riar, Chloé Durot, Milka Kiboi e Akanksha Singh) ha presentato a Berlino i risultati delle proprie ricerche sulle prestazioni dell'agricoltura biologica e dell'agroecologia nell'ambito dell'evento "Agroecologia e agricoltura biologica e il contributo alla sicurezza alimentare globale", organizzato dal FiBL.
