Grex: the forthcoming meeting agenda

The next GREX (Expert Group On Organic Production) meeting will take place via videoconference next 27 January. The agenda foresees discussions on different arguments, among which controls, trade, and rules of production.

Brexit: clarifications for organic trade from the UK Government

Following the vote on Brexit, many things will change for Italian and European companies that export and/or import organic products to the UK. The political and trade agreements will be different, and therefore the UK Government has produced some documents that can clarify some issues in relation to trade with the UK from 1 January 2021.


COP and GREX, 13-15 July: the Mipaaf note

The last COP (Committee on Organic Production) and GREX (Expert Group on Organic Production) meetings took place on 13, 14 and 15 July in videoconference. 

We publish the note drafted by the Mipaaf Organic Farming Unit reporting the topics of the meetings.

US and Japan expand organic trade opportunities, livestock added to trade arrangements

The United States and Japan announced the expansion of their organic equivalence arrangement to include livestock products. The arrangement has gone into effect July 16, 2020 and reduces costs and streamlines the process for anyone involved in the organic livestock supply chain by requiring only one organic certification.

Organic products trade between Korea and EU: : the new rules

From 1 July 2019 the South Korean authorities will introduce a new import certification model:  it shall follow the European organic products exported to Korea  in the context of equivalence recognition. The main change concerns the insertion of a new column relating to the "certificate number". The explanatory note and the new certificate model are attached.
