BioFach: CREA workshop on“Solving phosphites emergency in organic fruit and horticultural crops: research outcomes and policy strategies” (IT)

Biofach, (Nuremberg, from 14 to 17 February 2018) will host a seminar organized by CREA, the Italian Council for Research in Agriculture and Analysis of Agrarian Economy, "Solving phosphites emergency in organic fruit and horticultural crops: research outcomes and policy strategies". The seminar is part of  the “Biofosf project - Tools for the resolution of the 'phosphite' emergency in organic fruit and vegetable products" -  link) coordinated by the CREA-RPS (Relationship between Plant and Soil ) Research center.  

The quality and safety of food is an imperative in organic production. Recently, some organic fruit and vegetables sold in the EU market were found with phosphite residues, not allowed in Annexes I-II of Regulation( E)C No 889/2009. The workshop intends to open a discussion among researchers, politicians and farmers on fixed MRL and possible source of phosphite residues in organic crops.
